Darrell Evans smashed 3 homeruns and had 8 RBI as the Atlanta Braves ballclub
embarrassed the San Francisco Giants by the count of 19 to 8.

Evans was in a groove all evening. He smashed a two-run homer in the 1st
inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the 3rd inning, blasted a two-run home
run in the 4th inning, tripled clearing all three ducks off the pond in the
4th inning and tripled in the 8th inning. Atlanta lit up the scoreboard in
the 3rd inning which saw them score 4 runs on 6 hits and the 4th inning when
they had 10 runs on 8 hits. This was the kind of game that many fans love as
the lead changed hands 6 times.

Pat Dobson(4-3) was the winner allowing 7 runs in 5 innings. Tom House earned
his 1st save. The losing pitcher was Juan Marichal(4-3). He was touched for
3 homeruns in his 3 innings of work.
