1973 AL Game: Cal. @ Bal.

 May 5, 1973

 The Baltimore Orioles pummeled the California Angels today, winning by a score of 17-2. The Angels scored first in the top of the 1st but that would prove to be the only highlight in this game for them. 
 Baltimore scored 2 in the 4th, 4 in the 5th, and 2 in the 6th before putting up a 9 spot in the 7th. Catcher Earl Williams had the big blow with a grand slam homerun. he had 6 RBI in the game. Mike Cuellar went the distance for the Orioles and picked up his 4th Win.
  The 17 runs were the most scored by any team this season in MLB.

Catcher Earl Williams hit a grand slam and Mike Cuellar had a complete game as
the Baltimore Orioles destroyed the California Angels by a score of 17 to 2
at Memorial Stadium.
 
It was a good day for Baltimore thanks to Williams.  He slapped a one-base hit
plating a run in the 5th inning and emptied the bases with a Grand Slam
homerun in the 7th inning.  Baltimore provided plenty of action in the 5th
inning when they had 4 runs on 6 hits and the 7th inning with 9 runs on 5
hits.  Baltimore managed 17 hits in their victory.  
 
Cuellar(4-2) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. The loss was charged
to Bill Singer(4-2).  He was touched for 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3
innings.
